Diet which together in a meal you don not eat carbohydrates and proteins, drafted a New York surgeon Dr. William Howard Hay before more than 100 years.
He considered that the cause of all diseases is acidification of the organism that causes food and experimented on themselves trying to cope with their own illness kidney.
According to his theory, proteins and carbohydrates are not able to be boiled together, thus, hinder digestion.
The diet according to Dr. Hay contains almost all foods, calories do count, but strictly separating protein foods from foods containing carbohydrates.
This diet recognizes three categories of food:
-neutral groceries: vegetables, seeds;
-protein group (which increases acidity) – meat, fish and dairy products;
-carbohydrates- bread, potatoes, fruit.
On the trading rules of the diet according to Dr. Hay:
1.Fruits and vegetables make up 80% of the diet and half in the raw state.
2. Food of neutral group can be freely combined with the other two groups.
3.hydro recommended morning and evening to eat carbohydrates and proteins noon.
4. To eat natural food, eat slowly and pause between meals for a period of four hours.
5.Namaleniot intake of fish, cereals and complete ejection of the beans, is considered unjustified. By entering only 20% foods that increase acidity, it appears a risk of insufficient intake of nutrients, B vitamins, folic acid, iron, magnesium.
6.Posebna hidden danger is an imbalance of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (essential = must be consumed through food). Crucial to our health is not their quantity, but mostly, their relationship.
Sometimes their behavior in diet was 1: 6, but with the growth of industrial food, especially vegetable oils industry has reached critical 1:20 in favor of omega-6 fatty acids.
Precisely the imbalance is considered an important contributor to the long list of diseases caused by the modern diet. With reduced intake of fish, ie Omega-3 fatty acids, the disbalas further increased.
RULES balanced diet
There is no medical justification for a diet that is based on this principle. However, a modified Dr. Hajova – diet with an emphasis on natural ingredients, could be recommended.
All of this may sound complicated, but the essence is simple: no need to search tables and indexes on specific foods or to learn by heart.
It should avoid highly processed food industry, and all aimed at selection of natural, unprocessed foods that lead to balancing the virtue.
By combining the integral cereals, vegetables, fruits, carbohydrates, fats and proteins, remain valid as a general rule of balanced and healthy diet.
